Zoo Sketch Day

Yesterday was a hoot. My friend Janet and I grabbed our sketchbooks and headed on over to the Portland Zoo to get some practice in. 

It was cold and I'm a weenie, so we spent more time speed walking than sketching. 

 After walking around for a few hours we realized why we were there and whipped our sketchbooks out. By that time though all the animals were feeling frisky and moving so much we had a hard time capturing them. The giraffe was the most compliant, so that one turned out the best. 

The elephant was acting pretty squirrly, but I was able to get a quick sketch in. 

I filled several pages so I'm stoked. 

We are going to try to make drawing days regular now, so be on the lookout for more scribbles!
