I see this a lot. A person who blogs and feels guilty for not blogging enough (same applies with all social media). You owe no one your life moments. It is up to you to share or not to share, and you should never feel guilty for keeping those times and memories to yourself.
So often in our current culture we feel the need to share...everything - "Ah! Look at that, let me take a picture and post it!" While sharing these life moments in and of themselves isn't bad, it's letting a moment be captured by a camera or blog post rather than be captured in your own memory (where it is often more appreciated and treasured). We begin to forget these special times because we stored them on our "external hard drive" aka. our computers. Humans used to pass history down through spoken word and memory, what will happen when we are asked about our history? "Ah, let me log into Facebook for a moment..." We have forgotten how to remember.
I am by no means saying social media is bad, I'm merely saying that we should never feel pressured or obligated to share what is happening in our lives. How refreshing it is when you can honestly ask someone, "what's new?" and not have already read about it on the internet. And how admirable it is to see parents refraining from posting potential embarrassing photos of their children. Those kids will have their whole life documented on the internet for anyone to see, think of that.
So I wish more to encourage people - Choose what you post wisely.
